Uninvited [Aiden]
Jul. 12th, 2016 04:02 pmIt's not his normal route home. Stopping by the bakery on the way from work was more out of curiosity than necessity. Breakroom donuts had been a reasonably nice change for once, and it couldn't hurt to bring a few home for breakfast purposes. Not the greatest part of the city (it's not like he lives on Park Avenue himself), but there are far worse places he could be wandering during the day.
He's very nearly to the bakery when he hears a yell followed by a grunt and scuffle down the alley he'd just walked past. He hadn't paid the alley any mind initially--he had no reason to look down the length of it in the first place. But that yell sounded an awful lot like a kid, and that grunt was reminiscent of one that could have come out of Levi himself.
Back up the sidewalk and rounding the corner, he finds a grown man holding what looks to be a 13-year-old boy against the brick wall. Robbery? Assault? Doesn't matter. He sprints down the alley (thank Gaia for small speed favors) and takes hold of the back the collar of the asshole's shirt (who the fuck wears a hoodie in the middle of August?), yanking as hard as he can to swing him around and pin him against the wall. "Give me one reason I shouldn't break your neck right now."
The assailant, a blonde twentysomething with his pants halfway down his ass and his hand down the front of them (for his junk or a gun, Levi can't tell), struggles against the bulk of the man holding his face against the old, rough brick. "Fuck off me, asshole."
Levi pushes his hand a little harder before looking at the kid. "You okay?" The boy takes a fraction of a second to nod. "Go get help." He's off and running before the tall man can blink.
He leans in towards the man's face, a deep growl rising in his chest. "Think fucking around with kids is okay?" He avoids an attempt at an elbow in his gut. "Try that again, and I will break your skull."
